Good habits are made in the morning. Whether you’re going to vow to drink more water, make sure you exercise daily or you just want to stay away from junk food then adding it in to your morning ritual is the best way to stick to it.
If you really want to make changes then instead of rolling over and hitting the snooze button, follow these 6 morning habits to change your life.
Not everyone is a morning person granted but imagine having an extra hour or even half hour just for yourself?
The best way to do that is to get an early start each day. You can use the extra time to enjoy a juice and watch the sunrise, catch up on a few chapters of the latest book your reading or even get your inbox under control before the working day begins.
By starting your mornings earlier, it gives you time to adjust for the day and you won’t be running around feeling stressed because you’ve run out of time.
Enjoy a cup of warm water with lemon
We’ve shared the benefits of drinking lemon in the morning a lot. But by switching your morning coffee with a cup of warm water and fresh lemon you’ll find that you’ll give your whole body a boost.
Lemon and warm water aids digestion and can give your immune system a boost. It also can help flush any toxins and unwanted materials from your body.
You’re already hopping in the shower before you go to work anyway so take an extra few minutes to give your body a brush.
Skin is the body’s largest organ so it’s really important that we keep it in good condition. Dry brushing stimulates your lymphatic system, which in turn helps release toxins. It removes dead skin cells, stimulates blood flow and helps cell regeneration.
To dry brush, start at your feet and always brush towards your heart.
Have a good breakfast
A good breakfast doesn’t just mean a big breakfast.
A Raw ME Juice is the perfect way to replenish your body with plenty of good vitamins and minerals so that you stay satisfied until lunch.
Take our Green Junkie juice for example; Green Junkie is filled with spinach the most nutrient packed vegetable, lettuce great for weight loss, parsley a natural blood cleanser, and cucumbers which regulate blood pressure, all together a perfect remedy. Let the healing begin.
Stretch it out
There is nothing more satisfying than a good stretch. Especially if you don’t have time to work out in the morning. Do some light stretching when you first get up, you can combine it with brushing your teeth or preparing your lunch.
Stretching is the perfect way get your blood pumping in the morning and ease away any stress or tension from the previous day or awkward sleeping position.
Try the neck and shoulder stretch.
To stretch the muscles on the right side of your neck, turn your left ear over to your left shoulder and hold for 20 seconds. Repeat on the other side to stretch out your left side. Relax for a moment and then roll your shoulders to the back, and then to the front. Then lift them up to your ears, tensing the muscles, and allow them to drop completely. Repeat this three times.
Start a gratitude journal
We spend a lot of our days complaining. Even if you think you don’t, I’m pretty sure that just today you’ve commented negatively on the weather, traffic or even a difficult client at work.
But when was the last time you said THANK YOU? You can’t expect things to get better when you’re not grateful for the things you already have.
So start a gratitude journal, fill it in whilst you’re consuming your breakfast and just write down 5-10 things that you’re grateful for. It could be you’re grateful for a roof over your head or maybe a loving husband or even that you’ve managed to snag the last spot in the new yoga class in town. This may seem like a bit of a strange habit but try it, it’ll change your life.
